Canfor’s Good Things Come From Trees Foundation and community giving program supports organizations and initiatives directly related to our priority giving areas in communities where Canfor operates. Funding priority will be given to registered charities with a Charity Registration Number (Canada) and EIN (U.S.).

How to Get Funding

    Allow for at least 6 weeks for application review
    We are unable to accommodate requests on short notice. Only eligible applicants will be notified via email.

Eligibility Checklist

To be considered for our Good Things Come From Trees community giving program:

  • Groups, events and activities must be in or have a direct connection to our operating communities.

  • Events and activities must align with our four areas of giving priorities: Education, Health, Sustainability and Community

  • For event support, only applications submitted 3 months in advance of the event date will be considered.

  • For product donation, only requests for our existing lumber products will be considered.

The following types of requests are currently ineligible to receive funding:

  • Religious or sectarian organizations - except where they represent or benefit non-denominational community and social support services that benefit the whole community.

  • Organizations that discriminate based upon an individual’s gender, race, colour, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by local, provincial/state, or federal law.

  • Individual requests for educational sponsorship outside our established scholarships and bursaries.

  • Enhancements to public or private school property, unless through post-disaster funding.

  • Travel (international and local), accommodation or meal expenses, including for educational purposes.

  • Individual participation in charity fundraising drives.

  • Individual participation in charity walks, runs or rides.
